Fitted ours and have been playing a not entirely legit copy of mario cart Smile Great fun!
You do need to get a tri-wing screwdriver tho, I found one on ebay for 99p including delivery Smile

Not managed to get it to play DVDs tho, what am I doing wrong??

Yeah I thought it would playt DVD's as it is a DVD drive that is used but apparently Nintendo haven't put the software in to play them. Sad

To be honest you can unclip the mod so no one would ever know. I could still return mine under warranty as it has not been soldered or tampered with. There is no warranty seal on the Wiis. No downsides as far as I am concerned.

You have to buy a silly Tri-Wing screw driver to get the Wii apart and it's really frustrating when you want to fit the chip and can't cos you don't have one.

Other than that no draw backs at all!
