The single mirror fitted to my 66 certainly doesnt move freely. I should think its something modern cars need to worry about.

They have to fold back when hit with a force of 10kg's but it's an IVA thing. I fitted normal car ones for the IVA but now have motorbike ones. Anyway if your planning to hit pedestrians you wing mirrors folding is the least of your worries.

We used to have a guy who would occasionally drive our 3,5T flatbed truck to pick up bits and bobs of steel parts for us.

In the end we stopped using him as he though strapping loads down was a waste of time, and we had few lucky escapes with big lumps of steel flying about all over the back of the truck.

One day I took him to one side and explained that securing the load was his responsibility and that he would be in trouble in pulled over by the police..... To which he just shrugged his shoulders.

Anyway the last time I used him, the passenger side wing mirror came back all cracked . I asked him what how the mirror got smashed and he said 'I think I might have hit a guy on a push bike, but didn't bother to stop'

Never used him again..... What a tool. :o
