Let me know your axle length and I'll check these 300m/930 setups.

Glad your boy is doing well!

I know it's never good, but better to have a problem like that now than in the desert.

He's not quite the boy anymore he's now 6'1" and is 20 soon. His levels are now in the normal range. Should be really as he has 4 kidneys now.

As for the rail. I know that's why I'm getting some miles on it. Going to Scotland to the UK transplant games end of july and a few other events. Hopefully get one more session round the track end of this month. Loads of smaller stuff to go yet to make life more comfortable. I've even printed a drinks & Phone holder... Luxury motoring!

I've chucked a shaft in the boot (didn't have a tape handy) so I'll measure it up for you tonight.

Thought the dash needed a bit of an update so set about making a new one. Still want to keep it simple and give better protection after filling my last stereo with mud and it doesn't even have a cd slot either!

Mould made from Celotex builders foam as before with the same poundland body butter as release agent.

Made a new dash from the offcut of the roof front.

Trail fit. I know it's all wonky but you get the idea

Dash is more or less finished now waiting for some new switches to come from Hong Kong or similar. Only had gloss black paint, I'll get some matt and sort it out. Still have to paint the mounts but the new rear speakers can easily be heard over the engine and wind at speed. The front ones need to go in and are larger as well :D

I have also been on the hunt recently for some material to make a cover for the rail for my trip. Having no luck at fabric shops it was suggested to try marque or sail makers. Well in true Sandrail#23 tradition I have acquired a sail to make the cover from. It is from the Silver Shamrock. One of Ron Hollands first designs back in 1976 it won the 1/2 ton world cup and is still winning races. In April it won the IRC4 Helly Hansen Warsash Spring Series. Have to try and keep the number on cover.

Hey Andy, best of luck with the trip!
Give me a yell if you need last minute running around for anything - but I am sure it's all organised.

Oh and you were right, checked the new mudguard frames and they were cracking exactly where you said they would!

Thanks Paul. Still sorting a few things but virtually there. Thanks for the offer though. By the time I get back there will be another.......

P.S. Sorry about the frames I've driven over enough to know! Mk4's still going strong, if they last this trip I'll patent the design
