So as above I'm guessing a Baja kit is classed as substantially modified then .

Reading through all the bumph all.the other aspects of it mine would be fine but its the bit about a kit on a standard car that seems like a Baja will need test . Unless it was done 30 years ago ( which it wasent)

Just mot . Personally I think its a bad idea .i know for a fact there some customers of ours at work we only see at mot time so without a mot there will be no one with mechanical training looking over there cars . Not good for road safety . For me its tipical tight Yorkshire man saving £30 as I know my Baja is tip top .but looks like Il still need a mot .

Last two posts, post 3 on vw shortening of the pan worth reading. I've no idea why they would exempt historic vehicles, unless they're planning something that would cost us more

Thanks for the link .

I think its a ploy to get classics off the road . How long will it be before there is an accident involving a classic that is mot exempt but hasn't been kept up to a safe standard by eather neglect from a young gung ho owner or some old guy who cant do what he did when he was younger and something gets missed ..

Pre 1960 cars have been MOT exempt for a while, and I've never heard of any issues.

Bottom line is that Bajas, Buggys and Rails all still need MOTs. Fine with me. :)
